State Pension payment dates November 2026: your payday

GOV.UK’s guides do not say whether St Andrew’s Day, a bank holiday only in Scotland, changes a State Pension payment due on Monday 30 November.

State Pension is paid on a weekday set by the last two digits of a National Insurance number, GOV.UK says, and Monday 30 November is a bank holiday only in Scotland.

The new State Pension is usually paid into an account every four weeks, GOV.UK says, and the basic State Pension follows the same weekday table.

Which weekday is your payday in November 2026?

The weekday depends on the last two digits of a National Insurance number, as it did in State Pension payment dates for October 2026.

State Pension paydays in November 2026
NI number endsPayment day of the weekDates in November 2026
00 to 19Monday2, 9, 16, 23 and 30 November 2026
20 to 39Tuesday3, 10, 17 and 24 November 2026
40 to 59Wednesday4, 11, 18 and 25 November 2026
60 to 79Thursday5, 12, 19 and 26 November 2026
80 to 99Friday6, 13, 20 and 27 November 2026

Because payments come every four weeks, a claimant is paid on only some of these dates. GOV.UK says claimants get a letter about their payments after they claim.

What is different about Monday 30 November?

GOV.UK’s bank holidays list shows Monday 30 November as St Andrew’s Day in Scotland. England and Wales and Northern Ireland have no bank holiday before Friday 25 December, the same list shows.

The guide to the new State Pension says a claimant “might be paid earlier if your normal payment day is a bank holiday”, but it does not say whether a holiday observed only in Scotland counts for claimants who live in Scotland. The basic State Pension guide has no bank holiday sentence at all.

Four weeks after Monday 2 November is Monday 30 November, by our calculation. A claimant in the Monday group whose payments fall on 2 November would therefore have the next payday on St Andrew’s Day, and would be paid twice in the month. GOV.UK’s guide to how benefits are paid says a payment due on a bank holiday will “usually be paid on the working day before”. If that rule applied to 30 November, the payment would arrive on Friday 27 November, by our reading.

Who to contact about a payment

Questions about a State Pension payment go to the Pension Service, GOV.UK says, or to the Northern Ireland Pension Centre for claimants in Northern Ireland. A change of account also goes through the Pension Service, and GOV.UK adds that different rules apply to claimants who live abroad.

Questions and answers

Can the account the pension is paid into be changed?

Yes, claimants tell the Pension Service, GOV.UK says.

What about claimants who live abroad?

GOV.UK says different rules apply and its State Pension pages do not list them in the weekday table.
